The story of Leanne and Adam is like something out of a movie - but then I suppose as they have worked in the film and entertainment industry it would be hard not to be! This talented pair met by chance when they had each been booked to entertain at the same venue; wjo knew then that it would lead to such a perfect partnership? Not only are they now married, but they also have their own entertainment business! Knowing that Leanne had previously been a body double for none other that Keira Knightley, Adam thought it only right to recreate that classic 'Love Actually' scene and ask her out using a series of hand written signs - well of course she said yes! Five years later, on their anniversary, Adam brought the signs out again and asked Leanne to marry him.
When the wedding planning began, there was no question about the fact that they wanted everything to be vegan. They had both been vegan for a number of years and knew this would be an important part of their day. 'We felt it was wrong to take the lives of animals just to eat and drink, to use products and wear clothes when you can do all of those things without the suffering', Adam told Love of All Weddings.
The wedding took place at Chilston Park Hotel in Kent and the couple have praised the venue for being extremely accommodating with their requests for vegan catering. 'They had never done a vegan wedding before', Adam explained, 'with our help and Leanne's excellent cooking knowledge they put together an amazing fully vegan wedding.' The hotel provided vegan drinks, canapes, three course wedding breakfast, evening buffet and even breakfast for 100 guests the following morning.
With the wedding taking place in January, Chilston Park Hotel was the perfect back drop for this winter wedding. The lake within the grounds offered beautiful photo opportunities and The Orangery was a great space for keeping guests entertained during the evening celebrations. Naturally, being entertainers themselves, these newly weds didn't do entertainment by halves! Though out the wedding day they had three DJs, an Elvis act, acoustic guitar singer, cockney knees up piano player, close up magic, burlesque, a drag act, quirky photo booth, casino tables and even a lego building competition. It's no surprise that when asked what really stood out on the day, Adam told Love of All Weddings 'well, when our drag queen danced wit our Elvis it was hilarious.'
However, the couple were also conscious to embrace the traditional emotion of a wedding, with some truly heart warming moments too. Adam's father had sadly passed away before the wedding, but he had written a poem before he had died - which no one had yet seen. Adam's brother-in-law read this poem during the church ceremony. Leanne and Adam were also sure to include their much loves dog, who was the ring bearer!
When asked what advice they would offer to couples currently thinking about planning a vegan wedding, they said 'do it! Don't cater for non vegans just to make them happy, it's your day.'
